Biography
Shawn Mendes (Shawn Peter Raul Mendes, born August 8, 1998 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was discovered in 2013 on Vine, where he posted short covers that quickly attracted millions of views. In 2014 he signed a record deal and broke through a year later with his debut single Stitches . His first album Handwritten (2015) became a worldwide success. With subsequent albums such as Illuminate (2016), Shawn Mendes (2018) and Wonder (2020), he grew into one of the biggest pop artists of his generation.
