Biography
Claudia de Breij (1975) is a Dutch cabaret artist, singer, writer and radio and television presenter. She began her career in the cabaret circuit and quickly became one of the most versatile artists in the Netherlands. In 2005 she achieved national breakthrough with her radio programme on 3FM and her theatre programmes in which she combines music and cabaret. Her best-known song is Mag Ik Dan Bij Jou (2010), which became one of the most played Dutch songs of recent decades and is often sung at important moments such as weddings and commemorations. Besides her musical work, De Breij is also successful as a writer of columns and books, and as a presenter of major events such as the Oudejaarsconference (2016). Her music is characterised by recognisable lyrics, warmth and a strong connection with social themes. Claudia de Breij reaches a broad audience through her combination of humour, music and engagement.
