Biography
Goldband is a Dutch pop group from The Hague, formed in 2019. The band consists of Boaz Kok, Karel Gerlach and Milo Driessen, complemented by producer Wieger Hoogendorp. The group takes its name from the well-known The Hague brand muurplamuur, as a nod to their working-class background. Goldband quickly caught attention through their energetic live performances, humour, and their unique combination of pop, dance and levenslied influences.
Their breakthrough came in 2021 with the track Witte Was , which became a major hit in the Netherlands and Flanders. In 2022 they followed with performances at festivals such as Lowlands and Pinkpop, where they received much praise for their explosive shows. Goldband grew rapidly into one of the most popular acts in the Netherlands. Their success was crowned with various awards, including an Edison. With their album Betaalbare Romantiek they confirmed their position as an innovative pop group that dares to push the boundaries of genres.
