Biography
John Mayer, born in 1977 in Bridgeport, Connecticut (USA), is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known worldwide for his virtuoso guitar playing and versatile musical style. His breakthrough came in 2001 with the album Room for Squares , which featured the hits Your Body Is a Wonderland and No Such Thing . In the years that followed, he built a reputation as both a pop artist and a blues guitarist, thanks in part to albums such as Continuum (2006) and Battle Studies (2009). His playing is often compared to legends such as Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but he has developed an entirely distinctive style in which blues, pop, folk and rock come together. Mayer has won multiple Grammy Awards and has collaborated with artists such as Alicia Keys, B.B. King and Herbie Hancock. Beyond his solo work, he has been active since 2015 as guitarist and singer with Dead & Company , the band that continues the legacy of the Grateful Dead.
