Biografie
Maxïmo Park is a 4-piece indie-Britpop band inspired by the post-punk and new-wave of the 1970s and 80s. They self-released a debut 7" single in 2004, titled 'The Coast Is Always Changing/The Night I Lost My Head', which caught the attention of the label Warp Records.
Despite being a label oriented towards electronic music, Warp Records decided to take this band under their wing and released Maxïmo Park's next single, "Apply Some Pressure," in 2005. This reached the Top 20 in the U.K.
Formed in 2001 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England
Over de muziek
Hun debuut album, A Certain Trigger werd gereleased in de winter van hetzelfde jaar, in handen van de producer Paul Epworth. Met het uitbrengen van dit album werd niet veel later een tour gestart, door onder andere de U.K., USA en Japan.
Vorig jaar gooide ze hun tweede full-lenght album de lucht in, Our Earthly Pleasures. Waarmee hun status bevestigd werd in de Indië-Rock kringen. Dit werd helemaal helder nadat ze te zien en te horen waren op festivals als PinkPop en Lowlands.
