Biography
The Gathering was founded in 1989 near Oss by brothers Hans and René Rutten. The band evolved from gothic rock and doom metal into a distinctive blend of symphonic metal and progressive metal. With vocalist Silje Wergeland, keyboardist Frank Boeijen, bassist Marjolein Kooijman and drummer Hans Rutten, The Gathering developed their own sound. Their discography includes albums such as Mandylion (1995), Home (2006) and countless other works that reflect their artistic growth.
