The Weeknd, born as Abel Tesfaye in 1990 in Toronto (Canada), is one of the most influential artists of modern pop and R&B. He broke through in 2011 with his mixtapes "House of Balloons", "Thursday" and "Echoes of Silence", which earned praise for their dark, atmospheric style and innovative production.
