Biography
Blof was founded in 1992. Their first album Naakt onder de hemel was released independently. In 1998 the band became popular with the general public with the single Liefs uit Londen. After that, there was no stopping the band. Until a tragic accident occurred. Drummer Chris Gotte died in 2001 following a terrible motorcycle accident.
The band wanted to continue and found a new drummer in Norman Bonink. They made the album blaauwe ruis. There were a number of songs from the album that reached the public. Such as Dichterbij dan ooit, Mooie dag and Blaauwe ruis.
Another hit was Holiday in Spain with Counting Crows. Recorded in two languages and reached number 1 position.
But Blof wanted more and decided to travel the world to make music. This is where the album Umoja was born. Recorded with local artists in 13 different countries.
