Biography
Clean Bandit is a Grammy-winning English electronic music band, founded in 2008 in Cambridge. The original line-up consisted of Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson, Luke Patterson, Neil Amin-Smith and Ssegawa-Ssekintu Kiwanuka. Today the formation comprises Grace Chatto (cello, keyboards, vocals), Jack Patterson (bass, keyboards, vocals and main composer) and Luke Patterson (drums). They are known for their distinctive blend of classical music with electronic dance music, often featuring guest vocalists.
About the music
Clean Bandit broke through internationally with the single Rather Be (2014) featuring Jess Glynne. The track became a worldwide hit, topped the British charts and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. This was followed by major hits such as Rockabye (2016) with Sean Paul and Anne-Marie, which held the number 1 position for weeks, and Symphony (2017) with Zara Larsson, an anthem that was embraced worldwide. Solo (2018) with Demi Lovato also grew into a hit and achieved multiple platinum and diamond certifications. Their second album What Is Love? (2018) brought together these successes and confirmed their position as one of the most innovative dance-pop acts of their generation.
