About the music
Fixkes is a band from Stabroek, Belgium, near Antwerp. The band blends acoustic pop music with rap. Fixkes was founded in November 2005 by Sam and Jan Valkenborgh. The name Fixkes is a nickname Sam received in his youth. Jan plays drums while Sam sings and plays guitar; he also writes the lyrics and music. In January 2007, the band was picked up by Dutch label Excelsior Recordings. The band, which already had a solid following on their MySpace page, then broke through on a large scale in Flanders. StuBru launched the single Kvraagetaan as a Hotshot, meaning the track became the most-played song on the station for a week.

In March 2007, Fixkes reached number 1 on the Ultratop 50. They held that position through April, May and June. By the end of June, they had spent 16 weeks at number 1, a record.
"Ongelukkig" is the band's second single. The track about ex-lovers came out in September 2007.
Their debut album, Fixkes, was released in October 2007 and went gold in November 2007.
