Biografie
Kansas is an American rock band formed in 1973 in Topeka, Kansas. The group is known for their progressive rock style, in which complex compositions and symphonic elements are combined with solid guitar rock. Their greatest successes came in the 1970s and 1980s, with classics such as Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind . These songs grew into timeless rock anthems that continue to be played frequently on radio and sung along to live by fans today.
Kansas distinguishes itself through their use of violin in a rock context, played by Robby Steinhardt, which created a unique sound within the genre. Their albums Leftoverture (1976) and Point of Know Return (1977) are regarded as highlights of progressive rock. Despite changes in the band's lineup, Kansas remained active and continues to tour, keeping their musical legacy alive.
