Biography
Lordi is a heavy metal band from Finland. Lordi consists of 4 men and a woman. They became known with the song Hard Rock Hallelujah, which they performed at the Eurovision Song Contest around 2006 and won first place. Lordi is also known for its costumes. Many people therefore compare Lordi with Gwar, another rock band. Mr. Lordi started Lordi back in 1992. He created a demo "Napalm Market" at that time.
About the music
The band members first met each other in Sweden.
Lordi really began in 1996, though the band consisted of only 3 members at the time: Mr. Lordi, Mr. Amen, Mr. G - Stealer. The following year, in 1997, Ms. Enary joined. Together they recorded their first album in 1999. "Bend Over and Pray the Lord" was never released, however. In 2005, Lordi had a successful performance at Melkweg (Amsterdam) as part of their "European Monstour". In 2006, Lordi performed again at Melkweg as part of their "Bringing Back The Balls To Europe" tour and played at Hof Ter Lo (Borgerhout near Antwerp). On 2 June they performed again in Belgium in Roeselare. Lordi has toured further with, among others, Hammerfall and Nightwish.
