Biography
Ignite is an American hardcore band with punk rock influences from Orange County, California. The band was founded in 1993 with the idea of bringing back the 'Melodic west coast hardcore sound' to the metallic-influenced scene. In 1994 they released their first album (Scarred for Life) and shortly after began touring. Since then they have released many more albums and built up a fanbase with fans from more than 30 countries.
About the music
Ignite's commercial breakthrough came on 30 May 2000 with the album A Place Called Home. Followed by Our Darkest Days.
Much of their music is socially and politically conscious, and Ignite supports organisations such as Earth First, Doctors Without Borders, Sea Shepherd, and Pacific Wildlife.
Their influences: Bad Religion, 7 Seconds, Bad Brains, Uniform Choice, Minor Threat, Pennywise, Dag Nasty, Tool, Helmet.
