Biografie
The band was formed in the summer of 2002 by lead singer and guitarist Johnny Borrell. The band has Swedish roots, with guitarist Björn Ågren and bassist Carl Dalemo both being Swedish. The band's debut album, Up All Night, was released in 2004. This record became quite successful in England. The same album was re-released in 2005 with the single "Somewhere Else". Razorlight also performed at Live 8 in 2005 on the stage in Hyde Park, London. The band also supported acts including Queen + Paul Rodgers and Oasis. Razorlight frequently played to sold-out venues. On multiple occasions they had to add extra shows to meet the enormous demand.
Over de muziek
In 2006 komt het tweede album Razorlight uit. De eerste single In The Morning wordt een hit in Engeland en Nederland. Ook het tweede album wordt goed ontvangen in de Engelse pers.
13 oktober 2006 stond Razorlight in de Heineken Music Hall tijdens de TMF Awards. De band wordt tevens uitgeroepen tot meest veelbelovende act van 2006. In oktober van dat jaar brengt de band een nieuwe single uit: America. Dit wordt hun eerste nummer 1 hit in Engeland. Ook in Nederland is het een hit.
Hun concert op 6 december 2006 in Paradiso (Amsterdam) was binnen 10 minuten uitverkocht. In mei 2007 speelde Razorlight op Pinkpop.
