Biography

The Beatles was a British rock band from Liverpool, active from 1960 to 1970, and is often regarded as the most influential band in music history. The group consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Their early work, with hits such as Love Me Do and She Loves You , was strongly influenced by rock 'n' roll and rhythm & blues. With the album Rubber Soul (1965) and especially Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), The Beatles pushed the boundaries of pop music through experimental arrangements, studio innovations and psychedelic influences. Their later albums, such as The White Album (1968) and Abbey Road (1969), rank among the most acclaimed records ever made.

The Beatles sold over 600 million records worldwide and have left an indelible mark on music, fashion and culture. After their breakup in 1970, all four members went on to successful solo careers, but the influence of their collective work remains felt to this day. Discover the songs on Gitaartabs.
