Biography

Volumia! was a nine-piece nederpop band from Maastricht founded in 1992 by artists' manager Hans Paul Nieskens, who started the band as guitarist and founder. Initially the band played cover songs, but Volumia! soon developed into a full nederpop formation with original compositions. The face of the band was singer and pianist Xander de Buisonjé, supported by singers Tamara and Birgit, keyboardist Axel Lindelauf, drummer Robin Zalm, bassist Richard Ritterbeeks and a horn section with Eric van Oppen and Harold Mingels. The band grew into a much-heard sound in the Dutch pop scene of the nineties.
