Biography
Intwine is a Dutch rock band that formed when Roger Peterson, Jacob Streefkerk and Touche Eusebius met each other at the Rock Academie. Roger brought experience from bands such as Moose and Lemonbong, while Jacob and Touche previously played together in Main Attraction on Sint Maarten. With guitarist Jon Symons and drummer Rocheteau Mahuwallan, they form a nederpop band that builds their sound on chords and guitar parts.
The band gained recognition with their debut single "Happy" in 2003, which reached third place in the Dutch Top 40. Their self-titled debut album followed the same year. Later hits such as "De Dominee" and the album "Perfect" – which won a 3FM Award – established Intwine as a solid rock act in the Netherlands. About the music
Before Roger came to the Netherlands, he drummed for the Aruban bands Moose and Lemonbong.
After that he was the singer in the band Alias and later he joined the band R&M, which scored a number 1 hit.
Eventually Roger, Jacob, Touche and Mike form the group Orange Grove.
They perform throughout the Netherlands, but Roger decides to participate in Idols. Roger reaches the final 10 finalists, but he is not really a typical Pop idol. Idols wants him to sign a contract before he can enter the final. However, Roger does not do this, as it would mean he would have no say in his own work.
He then decides to leave Idols. Later Roger, Jacob, Touche, Kevin and Erwin form the rock band Intwine. This turns out to be a good choice when they release the single Happy in early 2003. The track reaches 3rd position in the Dutch Top 40.
In 2003 their debut album called Intwine is released and they play at LIVE38.
An official website also launches alongside the 8 fan sites that exist at that time.
The Box presents Intwine the Pure Sessions in 2004 with a contribution from percussionist Ferdinand.
In this year they also have a hit with the title song of the Dutch crime film about Klaas Bruinsma called De Dominee.
This is the first single from their new album Perfect and also the last single
released on the record label Dureco.
Drummer Erwin decides to leave the band and is replaced by Jeremy.
Eventually Rocheteau becomes the new drummer of Intwine.
In 2005 Intwine receives the 3FM Award for Best Album (Perfect).
They also stand as Audience Favourite at Pinkpop.
Before they perform at Metro Rock in Madrid, the album Perfect is released in Spain.
Guitarist Kevin is replaced by Jon, who was formerly a member of the band Primal Rage.
