Biography
Douwe Bob Posthuma, born in 1992 in Amsterdam, is a Dutch singer-songwriter known for his blend of folk, pop and Americana. He won the first edition of The Best Singer-Songwriter of the Netherlands in 2012 and built a successful career thereafter. With albums such as Born in a Storm (2013), Pass It On (2015) and Fool Bar (2016), he conquered the Dutch music scene. In 2016, Douwe Bob represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Slow Down , with which he reached the final and gained worldwide recognition. His music is characterised by warm vocals, personal lyrics and influences from the 1960s and 1970s, combined with modern pop. Douwe Bob is known as an independent artist who places authenticity and freedom at the centre of both his music and his personality.
About the music
One of his best-known songs is Slow Down . The song is an ode to slowing down in a world that often spins too fast. Musically, the track is carried by restrained guitar accompaniment, subtle percussion, and a chorus that invites you to sing along.
