Biography
Edward Christopher Sheeran is a British singer-songwriter. Ed was born on 17 February 1991 in Halifax. During his childhood he moved to Framlingham (England) where he learned to play guitar. During his secondary school years he began writing songs. Ed's first breakthrough came in June 2011 with his debut single The A Team . Later he wrote many more hits including Thinking Out Loud , Shape Of You , Perfect and I Don't Care .

During his secondary school years, he began writing songs. Ed's first breakthrough came in June 2011 with his debut single The A Team . Later he wrote many more hits including Thinking out loud [ProTab], Shape Of You [ProTab], Perfect [ProTab] and I Don't Care.
Ed Sheeran has written several songs for films. He wrote the song I See Fire for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug which came out in 2013. He also wrote All Of The Stars for the film The Fault In Our Stars from 2014. After his hit with Lego House in 2011 , Ed had a meeting with Taylor Swift's manager. This ultimately resulted in collaborations and a close friendship. The songs Everything Has Changed and Endgame came from this.
The A Team [ProTab] was Ed's lead single for his first studio album ; + (plus). During the Glastonbury Festival Sheeran announced that You Need Me, I Don't Need You would be the second single. In the music video of his third single; Lego House, lookalike Rupert Grint plays the lead role. Rupert became known for playing Ron Wemel in the Harry Potter films.
After the great success of his first studio album, things went quiet for several years. Ed didn't return until 2014 with a second album called; x (multiply). Ed had written more than 120 songs for this album over the past three years. Ultimately the album consisted of just 12 songs. The album was a huge success and reached number 1 in 15 countries.
In January 2017 it was announced that Ed Sheeran would release another album called; ÷ (divide). In the first week of this new album's release Ed broke a streaming record with more than 375 million streams. And in England he had no fewer than 9 songs in the British top 10.
Ed's latest album, No.6 Collaborations Project, consists of eight songs which he created all in collaboration with other artists. Including Khalid, Justin Bieber , Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Eminem, and Bruno Mars . The album debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart and US Billboard 200, and was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
After his latest album in 2019 the British singer announced he would take a break. Meanwhile Ed and Cherry ; his wife, have become parents for the first time to a daughter.
The girl is named Lyra Sheeran. Ed let his fans know that he will return when the time is right. In February he reassured fans that a new album would come in 2021!
